Ekaterina Sukhovolskaya 

Ekaterina is a Russian advocate with over 14 years of experience in dispute resolution, mainly in cross-border commercial litigation and arbitration. Her work includes advising private litigants on disputes arising out of commercial fraud, M&A transactions, investments and IT. Ekaterina also has been involved in mediations and applied foreign and Russian regulations and compliance.


Before she established her private practice in 2023, Ekaterina worked with the most reputable Russian law firms, as well as an in-house counsel to a Russian daughter company of a major European bakery company. Ekaterina is recommended by the Best Lawyers in Russia guide in Litigation (2020-2022) and Civil Rights Law (2020).


In addition to her legal practice, she acted as an academic supervisor of different international research groups on comparative law matters for public and private clients. Ekaterina volunteers as a student coach in arbitration competitions and maintains education courses for legal students. She is an author of several academic publications on contract law and commentaries on the Russian Civil Code. Being a philosophy practitioner, Ekaterina acts as a mentor to startups and other clients.


She graduated from Tomsk State University with high honours in 2011 and completed her master's studies at the Russian School of Private Law (Moscow) in 2013. In 2014 Ekaterina received a scholarship from the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law as a foreign researcher. 


Ekaterina is a native Russian speaker, fluent in English, proficient in German, and has a basic level of Italian, French, Ukrainian, and Hebrew.
