Dr. Evrim Akgün

Dr. Evrim Akgün graduated from Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Law in 2006 with a scholarship, followed by a master's degree at the same institution. In 2016, she completed her doctorate in private law at Galatasaray University.


After graduation, Dr. Akgün began her academic career as a research assistant in the Department of Commercial Law at Bahçeşehir University Faculty of Law. From 2017 to 2024, she served as a full-time faculty member in the role of Assistant Professor.


Dr. Akgün's expertise spans insurance, maritime trade, and transport law, which she has taught at both undergraduate and graduate levels in Turkish and English. Her scholarly contributions include numerous books, book chapters, and articles in these fields. Additionally, she has presented papers at symposiums and served as a court expert in various courts.


Demonstrating international experience, Dr. Akgün has worked as a guest researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Private Law in Hamburg and the Institute for Insurance Law in Frankfurt.


Fluent in English and German, Dr. Akgün is currently pursuing a master's degree in German law at Goethe University, further expanding her international legal expertise.
